Transaction categories

Category values for transactions on bank and e-wallet statements.

Categories apply to bank statements and similar transaction documents, such as e-wallet statements. They are derived from the transaction description, so any institution is supported.

Coverage depends on each row's layout, language and narrative. category_confidence is h (clear match), m (reasonable match) or l (uncertain).

unknownInsufficient narrative to assign a category, such as a generic memo code or reference number alone.

Generic CM/DM memo codes indicate direction, not purpose; these, reference numbers and name-only descriptions may stay unknown, so some passbooks have a high unknown share. unknown is not a fraud finding; do not force it into an unsupported category.
